Who Let the Dogs Out?

I just read a fascinating--and beautifully stated--blog from LaVonne Neff. I've known LaVonne for years, and know she's as much a dog lover as I, which is saying something! Which makes her thoughts that much more powerful.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Oh, and here's the song she's talking about. Nice voice, sweet sentiment...but, methinks, not quite right.

What say you?

Well said. That cushy image of "a loving God" pales in the reflection of the Blood of Christ. God IS love. Dogs in all their faithfulness and wonderful loyalty are also like us: self-seeking for pleasure. They suffered from a fallen world just as we did.

Never even considered a comparison of God and dog (though I have always felt dogs and horses are some of His finest handiwork). But on the other hand, I've always been mystified by the few mentions of dog in the bible that were somewhat derogatory - which never squared up with the dogs I have known.

But now, thinking of myself as the dog - those mentions are a whole lot more sensible.
